"Boat Care Day" was first held by GS Battery Vietnam at Lagi Seaport - Binh Thuan Province on last two days 28-29th Aug 2015. The event has been very favorable and successful with excitement of helmsmen and fishermen here. GS brought free maintenance services for batteries of boat and trained technical knowledge about battery care in order to ensure boat’s safety that make helmsmen feel confident to push off to begin a new fishing season.
Within two days, the technicians have approached to maintain for over 74 boats (about 150 batteries), and advised for helmsman knowledge of battery care. The main activities include battery maintenance steps such as: clean terminals, measure voltage, refill distilled water for battery, and check the connection of batteries.
In the event, GS has collected statistics which are very noteworthy:
- 74 boats free checked and maintained batteries and 305 boats were approached to consult technical knowledge in general.
- 78% helmsman unrecognized fully charged battery indication. Full charged battery is when charge voltage unchanged between two times measures within 15 minds.
- 90% of cases connection of terminals in battery uncertainty, clip and rusted cos head. The risk of battery explosion and damage the electronics on boat like the radio navigation...
- 100% helmsmen used weak acid to refill battery instead of distill water. This will make battery damaged.
- 100% helmsmen mistook voltage 12V means battery is full. Actually, full battery power is from 12.6V and higher (This voltage display precise on-screen navigation).
Via battery research, GS brand is highest in Binh Thuan province, takes 54% market share.
Technical teams were promptly fix about 66 boats which have uncertain connection of battery terminals, avoid the risk of battery explosion and damage the electronics on boat like the radio navigation. Besides, the technicians will also provide advice and useful knowledge for 1300 helmsmen such as: how to recognize the battery is fully charged, refills distill water properly, and clean connection of battery to enhance capacity and battery age life. Helmsmen on boats also shared their feeling:” This is the first time we joined the event, I feel very satisfied because GS has brought very good battery care services to us and technicians consulted helpful knowledge to maintain battery for long life. Additionally, I feel very happy and excited to join game on land and receive cute gifts of GS. Thank you GS battery”.
Through this event, GS Battery Vietnam has approached and understood real situation of battery use in boats. In the future, GS will research and develop new products suitable for boats.
